Hello, I’m the administrator of this site and a huge fan of the Gore Range, my favorite spot to enjoy nature in Colorado. I was turned on to the range by a Colorado Mountain Club Basic Mountaineering Class to Peak “C”. Since then, I made the Gore Range my adopted home for hiking and climbing in Colorado. What do I like best about the range? The isolation and the challenge.
So, for the longest time, this site was just a collection of my own personal trip reports. Then, in 2002, I moved to the Seattle area, and the awesome Cascade Range (talk about isolation and challenge!). I’ve returned to Colorado a handful of times since then, each time making a trip into the Gore Range. But, that’s certainly not a good way to keep this site current. So, in the middle of 2010, I opened up the site to the public, hoping that you all can contribute to the site so that it becomes the place for Gore Range aficionados to meet, congregate, and share information.
I’m still excited about returning to Colorado and the Gore Range from time-to-time. With a trip up the Black Creek drainage, I’ve finally made it to every major valley in the range. But, there are still many wonderful trips to make. I still haven’t had my fill of ridge-running in the range yet.
