The highest peak in the Gore Range, Mount Powell (right), serves as an excellent introduction into the wilder side of the range. Mount Powell can be climbed by fit parties in a long day from Piney Lake. Mount Powell has better views and is a more stable climb than it's second highest neighbor to the north, Eagles Nest Peak.
