The salient and sublime profile of Peak "C" marks the beginning of "Ripsaw Ridge", the main backbone of the Gore Range. Peak "C" is a difficult climb by any route, the easiest being a tough 3rd class climb up a prominent snow couloir on the western side followed by a short airy scramble up the southern ridge. Beyond Peak "C" in this photo, you can see the following lettered peaks along Ripsaw Ridge: Peak "D" and "E" (second high point from the right). Peak "E" actually has two points that you can see here, the one on the right is about 50 to 75 feet shorter than the other. This photo was shot from the saddle west of Mount Powell.
