Sunset over Salmon Lake, beneath East Thorn. It's a long hike from either Mesa Cortina or Rock Creek to arrive at Salmon Lake, but well worth it. Even from this isolated spot, you can see two of Colorado's most visited fourteeners: Grays and Torreys Peaks, which you can see in the center of the photograph above. There are great campsites along the north shores.
