(I think that I inadvertantly posted that last update)
We were up at our cabin on Pebble Creek last weekend, and about 2’ of snow fell in about 2 days. It was beautiful, but the relatively warm temperatures (highs in low 30s) made for some heavier snow than we are used to this time of year. Some pictures at http://www.sgrhoa.net/betz/2010/101220/.
Nice pics Bill. Finally out of the Christmas madness at the shop. Ready to get back at it. Going dawn patrol south of Uneva tomorrow. Looks like that moist snow is turning into a hard slab. Dangerous stuff when that fractures. Recent activity on North-Northeast slopes. Safe travels to one and all.
Jim, I think that you are the new soul of the Gore Range. I hope to meet you in person some time.
Thanks, that’s quite a compliment. All I can say is something comes alive in me when I get in the flow of the Gore Range. A very special place indeed. If you have any interest in a ski tour sometime this winter or spring, I’m off Thursdays and Fridays. Was looking across from Vail at Outpost today…a fine day of touring and skiing that looks to be. Happy New Year. Look forward to hooking up with you.
Hi Jim,
I will look forward to a tour – my Spanish teacher, who is an expert backcountry skier, wants to go up Keller in February.
By the way, the link above to the pictures from our December visit to the cabin has changed. The new one is http://www.sgrhoa.net/betz/101220/.
Hi Bill, if you guys are planning a keller trip and wouldn’t mind dragging me along, keep me in the loop. I’m off on Thurs and Fridays. With some heads up, I can make arrangements for different days. Safe travels.
