Mosquitos are usually pretty rough in July on the eastern side of the range. I don’t recall exactly on this trip, but most others on this side at this time of year had pretty nasty mosquitos.

Wow. Stunning and otherworldly. Great report too. Almost felt like I was there.
Yeah, you gotta be careful in Fall. That thin snow makes it treacherous; slips are easy and jagged rocks aren’t protected by a thick soft layer of snow.

Grateful again for your efforts. Just got back from backpacking Pine Creek. Not much snow in the Collegiate Range…relatively speaking. Looking forward to getting into the Gore next week and putting the new Trip Report section to use. Peace and happy trails.
