I have made a commitment to explore the range to a great extent, particularly the many lakes and associated peaks. I aspire to create a photographic record of these beautiful places…I have found great info on summitpost and Theron’s pages (thanks!) but will leave the rest up to map reading and good old-fashioned effort. My climbs and explorations throughout he state have led me to appreciate the purity and complete wildness of the Gores. The appeal is in the adventure and feeling of pristine, unexplored wilderness. I absolutely love the range for it’s absence of any civilization; I always feel as though I’m one of the first to set foot there.
I’ve climbed in Alaska, the Cascades, Alps, South America, and throughout the state. The Gore Mountains compete with all these places and give a special experience every time! |
