Great report and nice pics. No camera for me when I was there, so I enjoyed your photos, especially Peak L. I did manage that in a one-day effort once, but it was long. I also like Peak W, which is easy to climb, but tucked back nicely in the center of the range.

Suggest the name Volkswagen Ridge for this VW ridge.
Hi Stan, if you go to ”Dashboard” on the header at the top of the GoreRange.info page, you can select ”manage posts.” From there you can adjust the trip logs you have entered. By the way…I got hosed at work on my La Sals trip this spring, but I appreciate your trip reports that I found. I hope to put them to use this coming ski season. I might try to hit you up for more beta.
I made the fix for you, Stan. I’ve only done that ridge in sections. Hope to do the whole thing one day, of course!

Yesterday Elke Dratch and I did the East Ridge of Peak V starting from about the halfway point between V and W. We then descended the full S Ridge back to the Pitkin Trail. Total = 11 miles in 9.5 hours. Excellent Class 3-4 rock on the ascent route (and descent). Route is simply to [...]
