A lot scarier and even steeper! In Joe’s book it said the first ascent of the route we did took 4 hours and a couple of pitons. We found a piece of cut rope in one place, but going solo, we had to keep going up. It took about two hours, mostly from the first pitch raining rocks on the second and third, so we had to wait. The crux was so airy, pushing 5.6 and 900 feet off the deck. Pretty bad-ass. Glad we did it and my partners did get C Prime in.

Did C yesterday. It was pretty hard as we did the west face from kneeknocker. Serious class 5 and exposure. We were planning on a mini Ripsaw traverse over to peak E, but I slipped in the scree gulley while finding the traverse route to C Prime. My wrist slammed a rock and I got a pretty good puncture wound. I abandoned and had the worst bushwack decent ever. It took 4.75 hours to get back to the car and then drive to the Frisco emergency room. 3 stitches later with some good deep wound cleaning, I was home by 10:30 after having left at 5:00 AM. I hope my partners had a good finish! Very tired!!

Seems like it’s always the places that you’re not expecting something to happen, right? Good job on the rarely-done route. How’d the north face look from that angle?
